EAT
Dimes / Located on the fringes of Chinatown, go to Dimes for veggie-forward grain bowls, tonics, and juices.
Prune / Jody William's East Village eatery is an all-time favorite.
Navy / When in Soho, this quietly cool spot is perfect for a late breakfast or early lunch.
El Rey / A bright, sunny luncheonette in the lower east side.
Lucali / For the best pizza in Brooklyn. Do yourself a favor, order a calzone, too.
Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream / Always leave room for a scoop of Morgenstern's Finest.
DRINK
I Sodi / For those who like a good negroni. If you get there early enough, you can sit at the bar, enjoy one of their many takes on a negroni and snack on a side of carciofi fritti. Sticking around for dinner wouldn't be a bad idea either.
Gramercy Tavern / Having a drink at Gramercy Tavern is New York to me. My favorite part about the ever changing menu is that they tell you how the drink will be served (up, neat, stirred, etc.).
DO
Union Square Green Market / If you're in the city on a Monday, Wednesday, or Friday, walking through the Union Square Green Market is a must.
Eataly / I come back again and again. Both the quality and Eataly's vast selection are beyond.
Yoga Shanti NYC / Need to reground yourself? Amazing teachers. Amazing space.
ABC Carpets & Home / Without question, my favorite store in the entire city. They have everything you could ever want, from hand dipped birthday candles to amazing kitchenware.
Saipua / If you find yourself in Red Hook, find Saipua.
Red Hook Winery / Believe it or not, Brooklyn has a winery. While the grapes are sourced across New York state, all the wine is produced right in Red Hook.
